Cassymaria’s review of From Ashes (Phoenix: A LexTal Chronicle)

From Ashes is Elise Faber’s spin off to her Phoenix series. From Ashes follows Gabby a girl hiding her past and learning how to use her magic. When gabby needs someone to train her in using her powers Mason volunteers. Mason is recovering from the loss of his wife and child but feels the need to help Gabby. Gabby is drawn to the hot and sexy Mason, as much as she fights it. The chemistry between these characters is amazing, and smoldering hot. With the Rengalla and the Dalshie at war, truth comes to light and Gabby’s past is revealed. Will they be able to complete the bond? You’ll have to read it to find out! From Ashes has cameos from our characters from the Phoenix series. This is a must read and I recommend it to everyone!

Celebrate Me book 5 in Kristen Strassel’s Sawtooth Shifters series

celebrate me

Shea Lowe has a bad reputation.

After years of throwing punches first and asking questions later, he’s hit a dead end. Notorious in Sawtooth Forest’s underground fighting ring, Shea wants out. Volunteering at Forever Home’s new farm is his only chance of getting another job on a ranch. But first, he’s got to prove that he can be trusted.

Delaney wants a voice.

Selective mutism made it sound like Delaney chose to be silent, but she didn’t choose to spend seven years locked in a cage. Forever Home is the last place she should’ve been sent for rehabilitation. But when a reckless, misunderstood werewolf treats her in a way she’s only dreamed possible, she realizes there’s no place else she’d rather be.

Delaney shows Shea that actions speak louder than words, and he vows to give her the one thing she’s never had–a joy filled Christmas with a real family. But Delaney must decide if she can accept Shea’s past if they have any chance at a future.

Cassymaris’s review of Celebrate Me book 5 in the Sawtooth Shifters Series

Yeah!! Shea finally gets his story! We’ve met Shea in previous installments in the series, and we’ve learned a bit about his tortured past. Shea is now working at Forever Home trying to make amends over the past. Delaney has suffered a traumatic event in her life; she’s spent the last 7 years trapped in a cage, now suffering from selective mutism it makes it hard for her to communicate. Delaney is now at forever home, the members of CAST (Center for Anxiety and Stress Therapy) believe that working with animals will help her, but seeing cages after she had spend 7 years in one has set her into full anxiety mode. Shea is drawn to Delaney and wants to help her chase away her nightmares. The two grow closer working together and build a bond. Delaney has fallen for Shea but she doesn’t know what his secret is. How will Delaney react when she finds out what Shea and the others really are? When a rival pack is set to attack will Shea be able to protect Delaney? This beautiful and heartwarming story will have you falling in love with Shea. I love the characters in this series, and Kristen’s amazing story telling. I recommend this book and series to everyone.

Try as he might, he can’t deny the need to be with his true mate, and he has to find a way to trust her as he convinces he he’s worth the risk.

Cassymaria’s Review of Destined Winter Valley Wolves 9

In V. Vaughn’s Destined: Winter Valley Wolves book 9, we get Sophie’s story. Sophie was introduced to us in a previous installment in the series. Sophie who recently divorced is trying to live her life to the fullest and moving next door to Warren has turned into lust at first sight …sort of.  Unaware that Warren is a wolf she embarrasses herself by commenting to herself on his good looks only then realizing that he must have heard her and that her sister had told her that the wolves has super hearing senses. Warren doesn’t trust humans, he’s has a traumatic past with them but finding out that Sophie is his true mate sends him running and giving Sophie the cold shoulder but the mating heat between them is too strong. When Sophie’s ex comes back into the picture trying to swoop Sophie off her feet, she must choose between her past and her future. The Winter Valley Wolves series is by far one of my favourite paranormal romances and I recommend this series to everyone.

Becoming Blue by Angie M. Brashears

Every single thing I’ve been taught not to do…I just did.

Talk to a stranger? Check

Get in a car with a stranger? Check

Go to a second location? Check

Go into a stranger’s house? Check

Take candy from a stranger? Check

If this is a kidnapping, it’s the kindest one I’ve ever heard of.

I’m living a fat girl fantasy. Snatched from a Weight Watcher meeting by a powdered-donut eating stranger, was by far the most exciting thing that has ever happened to me. Who knew I didn’t need to make appointments or attend meetings to have someone to talk to. A Friend. Two Friends. A dark, intense stranger. Secrets.

Everything I ever wanted, and something’s I didn’t. Not every tasty treat is for eating.

To each his own….right?

Cassymaria’s Review of Becoming Blue

***** 5 Star’s

I was given an ARC for an honest review from Netgalley

In Angie M. Brashears Becoming Blue we are introduced to Sara (with no H) an over weight, shy and self conscious young woman who has a troubling past. Sara attends therapy sessions to bring to light the reasons for her weight gain and her eating addiction. While attending a Weight Watchers meeting Sara is befriended by Sasha a carefree confident plus size woman who has a no holds barred outlook on life. After hijacking Sara from the WW meeting Sasha explains that she, believes that Sara would be the perfect addition to her business and lifestyle Chubby Chasers Inc. CCI a place where people pay high prices for an online membership to watch a house full of plus size woman and can request for special favors and fetishes to be brought to light on screen for a certain price. While at the house Sara is introduced to the other owner of CCI Gretchen and Javi. Javi is one of the owners of the CCI house and is the go to guy, driver, cook, fluffer…yes you read that right fluffer. Sara agrees to move in and have her life on camera and takes on the pin up girl image and her new on camera name Blue. Sara’s shy and innocent way is no match for the sweet talking Javi, the chemistry and heat between the two is off the charts. When the past comes to light and truths are revealed will the two be able to make it work? Becoming Blue is a dark erotic romance that has twists and turns around every corner that will leave you shocked and wanting more. This book has it all; humor, romance, suspense, and fetishes you would never have guessed even existed.  I defiantly recommend this book to anyone who likes a dark erotic read. I’m looking forward to reading book two in the Chubby Chasers Inc series and cannot wait to read more from this new and talented author.

Book Description:

Gracen has to fight the devil in her mind and the angel on her shoulder before one of them destroys her.

For thirteen years, Gracen Sullivan dreamed about a red-eyed demon named Hart Blackwell who tortured her every night. Her mother freaked when she found out about her daughter’s “hallucinations” and forced Gracen to go to the doctor, who prescribed some very powerful medication which kept Hart out of her head for five years.

A week ago, Hart came back and brought a friend.

But something has changed, and Gracen is seeing Hart when she’s awake too. And the other “friends” in her dreams? They have been found dead.

The police want to talk to her.

Her boyfriend has become distant.

Her dreams are becoming more and more intense.

Hell wants her.

Heaven has to stop her.

When push comes shoving, can Gracen fight the evil eating away inside her or will she be forced to embrace it and destroy the world?

Jessup Hart Blackwell ate my brain every night. He also ate my spleen, my liver, and my kidneys. Basically, anything he could get to, he ate. My tongue was his favorite. He said liars’ tongues were the best.

The leather straps with the weird symbols on them held me down—and quite frankly chaffed the heck out of me—while he cut and ripped away at every bit of skin, muscle, and cell I had.

All but one.

My heart.

He said it was because I didn’t have one.

For years this happened until I finally told my mom who took me to the doctor who in turn gave me some medicine to induce a dreamless sleep and offered the alternative of placing me in a mental hospital if I didn’t want to take it.

I chose medicine.

The nightmares stopped.

Until a week ago when I started my freshman year at the University of Tennessee at Crimson Ridge campus.

Last night, Hart brought a friend.

About Kelly Martin:

Kelly Martin writes paranormal, contemporary, historical, and YA fiction. She has been married for over ten years and has three rowdy, angelic daughters. When she’s not writing, she loves taking picture of abandoned houses, watching horror gamers on YouTube– even though she’s a huge wimp– and drinking decaf white chocolate mochas. She’s a total fangirl, loves the 80s and 90s, and has a sad addiction to paranormal TV shows. {Basically, she likes creepy stuff.} Her favorite characters are the very flawed ‘good guys’–and ‘bad guys’ who don’t know they are evil. She loves giving her readers books with unexpected twists and turns, but (here’s a hint) most of her books have the ending spelled out in the first chapter. See if you can figure it out.

Have You Taken A Trip Down Meghan Quinn’s The Mother Road?

We’re celebrating the release of THE MOTHER ROAD by Meghan Quinn!
THE MOTHER ROAD by Meghan Quinn
NA Romantic Comedy
Release date: January 12, 2016
Cover Designed by: Meghan Quinn

Never in a million years would I have pictured myself as an axe-wielding, dragon lady, chopping up multi-colored flannel shirts into my very own plaid mulch. But here I am, chopping away my frustrations.
It all started when my brother, Paul, convinced me to go on one last family road trip across the Mother Road with him and my dad.. Just like old times, right? Wrong. What Paul fails to mention is his best man, Porter, will be joining us, who just so happens to be my childhood crush and the man who broke my heart four years ago.
What is supposed to be a fun, family bonding experience across Route 66 turns into a war of pranks, awkward moments and bathrooms full of dirty flannel shirts and day old beard clippings. Paul’s know-it-all attitude and Porter’s devilish charm brings me to the brink of my sanity on my seven day trek across the United States with three bearded men in a small 1980’s RV.

About the Author:

Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She is known to bust out and dance if “It’s Raining Men” starts beating through the air and heaven forbid you get a margarita in her, protect your legs because they may be humped. Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing… enter her first novel, Caught Looking. Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze! Like me on Facebook: Find me on Goodreads: Visit my website: The Mother Road Meghan Quinn Celebrity beauty secrets The Mother Road is a standalone, new adult, romantic comedy that revolves around a girl named Marley, who goes on one last road trip with her dad and brother across Route 66 before her brother gets married. What they fail to mention to her is her brother’s best friend is joining them; her childhood crush and the boy who broke her heart four years ago. What is supposed to be a fun family road trip across the Mother Road turns into a trip full of sexual tension, pranks, and unfortunate reminiscing. Since Marley is a beauty blogger living in Los Angeles, she is surrounded by celebrity beauty myths and secrets. In the book, she tests out some of these beauty secrets herself. Here are some of her suggestions: 1. Hey scaly bows, get some lotion! Got some crust on those elbows? Don’t fret; it happens to the best of us. Lotion is a good quick solution but if you really want to break down the wall of shell-like skin, try wine! Warm up some water, drop some wine in it, and soak those elbows. They will be smooth as ever after you get them all boozed up! 2. No one likes a sludge head. Product build up is the number one offender to poorly styled hair – not an actual fact. But, if you do have some product build-up, don’t worry, there is a way to vanish the sludge and gain some fresh follicles. Grab some beer! I would go for the cheaper stuff because your hair isn’t going to care if you’re treating it with a local microbrew. Pour it in a bowl, dip your entire head inside and then wrap your head in saran wrap to let it sit. After a quick rinse, you’re follicles will be singing you heavenly – albeit, somewhat drunk – praises. 3. Is that a freckle? Nope, it’s a blackhead. Pesky little things, they have no right taking up residence on a lady’s face, but unfortunately they are the party crashers in the skin department. If you want to clear out those pores, take some baking soda and add it to some water or your moisturizer to form a paste – Ross Geller style. Apply to your face and let the paste sit for a bit before rinsing it off to find your skin fresher and clearer.

Author Bio

B.B., also known as Bebe, found her passion for romance when she read her first romance novel by Susan Johnson at a young age. She would sneak into her mother’s closet for books and even sometimes the attic. It soon became a hobby, and later an addiction, influencing her life in a positive way.

Bebe has always wondered about the existence of her talent. When she finally decided to pick up a metaphorical pen and start writing, she found a new way to embrace her passion.

She favors a romance that isn’t always easy on the eyes or heart, and loves to see characters grow–characters who are seemingly doomed from the start but find love anyway.
